Faleh Suwead al-Ajami won the Big Tour class at the 12th and last leg of the Hathab Equestrian Tour to finish as overall runner-up. With Saeed Nasser al-Qadi having already sealed the overall title, it was battle for second spot going into the final round of the competition.Al-Ajami finished behind Saeed after he led 13-year-old gelding Carport to victory at the Al Shaqab arena. Saeed, who did not compete yesterday, tallied 194 points, ahead of al-Ajami, who finished with 183 points. Cyrine Cherif took third place with 181 points.Salmeen Sultan al-Suwaidi, who had took victory on the first two days, came second to al-Ajami yesterday, with 19-year-old grey gelding Cantaro 32. 3. Nasser al-Ghazali took third spot astride Aslan 69. The team title went to Al Salam 197, ahead of Al Shaqab and Power Steel, who finish second and third respectively. Meanwhile, Jaber Rashid al-Amri clinched the Medium Tour title after a tight battle with Khalid Mohamed al-Emadi. The two were locked in keen contest but al-Amri took the honours after he led Canavaro De Muze (ET) to victory yesterday as he ended with series with 197 points, just seven more than al-Emadi. Al-Emadi finished second yesterday with Colibri 19, but the four faults he incurred dealt a crucial blow to his title hopes. Mohamed Sultan al-Suwaidi took the last podium spot with 180 points.The Small Tour title was won by Mohamed al-Ghazali (199 points) ahead of Khalifa Abdulla al-Khaldi (186) and Mohamed Nasser al-Qadi (176). Yesterday, al-Khaldi won the last leg with Dusty. Mohamed Nasser Al-Qadi came second astride Vlacido, while Alqaqa Adel Nassar was third with Arselina.Jessica Waldon won the Dressage - Level 1 title comprehensively. She finished with 171 points, well ahead Amna Ahmad al-Saffar, who had 157. Ali Mohammed al-Marri was distant third with 109 points.In the Dressage - Level 2, Mohamed Salem al-Marri bagged the overall title with 172 points. Ghanim Nasser al-Qadi (142) was second, while Iris Nijboer (122) came third. The QR1mn equestrian series, which was launched last year, has received overwhelming response and the competition has gained immense popularity. Hathab, meaning ‘Canter’ in Arabic, is an initiative launched by Qatar Olympic Committee President HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad al-Thani. The series is open for Qatari nationals and also to residents of Qatar.
