A traditional food festival is being held at Katara – the Cultural Village as part of the Bangladesh Festival until today. The three-day food festival was launched on Saturday in the presence of a large audience comprising different nationalities and age groups, especially those from the Bangladeshi community in Qatar. The Bangladesh Festival has been organised by Katara in co-operation with the Bangladesh embassy in Doha. It features a host of cultural activities and attractions, including movie screenings, an art exhibition, a workshop on cultural heritage and a photography exhibition.Ashud Ahmed, ambassador of Bangladesh, praised the co-operation with Katara and stressed that the festival is a good opportunity to introduce Bangladesh’s heritage. Mariam al-Saad, director of International Affairs at Katara, added: “The festival celebrates the culture of a country that has a long history and rich heritage, combining authentic traditions and customs with cultural, heritage and folkloric events.”Katara is also hosting, until today, an exhibition highlighting the works of artists Kalidas Karmakar and Mustafa Arshad at Katara Building 19, Hall 2, as part of the festival. The festival comprises cultural and heritage events that present various aspects of the culture, traditions and traditions of the people of Bengal. The Bangladesh Festival at Katara concludes today.
