League calls for aid to Palestinians

The League of Arab States has warned of the seriousness of the financial situation faced by the Palestinian Authority as a result of the recent arbitrary detention by the Israeli occupation authorities of funds from tax revenues owed to Palestinians, which constitute about 60% of the budget of the Palestinian Authority. In letters addressed to Arab foreign ministers Sunday, the Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Aboul Gheit, described these practices as a dangerous step that constitutes a flagrant violation of international law.
