Participants hail successful Qatar International Boat Show

Thefive-day 6th Qatar International Boat Show, the only annual  premierboat show in Qatar, wrapped up yesterday evening at the MarinaPearl-Qatar on a high note with a promise to offer more next year. “It’sa promising market, we will be coming back next year,” said HolgerKahl, managing director of Nobiskrug, the Germany-based marine industrygiant for over 110 years. Nobiskrug Group participated in the Doha showfor the first time this year. Kahl said it was a fantasticallyorganised show and the location was very nice , “with all the facilitiesaround.” He hoped that the show would grow further in the comingyears.  Zeeshan Raziq of ZG Traders from Pakistan lauded theorganisational skills for the show, and the venue. He said he will becoming back next year.A participant from Turkey said it was thefirst time for his company to take part in the Qatar show but wasimpressed by the overall success of the event. “We were here to explorethe market and so far it was good,” he opined. “Turkey and Qatar arefriendly countries and as a company based in Turkey, we are interestedin joint ventures with Qatari investors,” he said.“But, yes, at theend of the day it’s all about selling boats,” a spokesman for theorganisers said. Quoting Simpson of Simpson Marine, he said “there won’tbe any announcements until the paper work is done and the ink is dry.”Qatar’sCoast Guard received a marine surveillance boat as a gift from DohaCraft at the glittering closing ceremony of the 6th Qatar InternationalBoat Show.Rashid al-Madadi, managing director of Doha Craft,presented the keys of the Doha-manufactured boat to Lt Col Abdulazizal-Mohannadi, acting head of the Coast Guard, Ministry of Interior.
