Ministry’s events at Katara promote physical activities

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in co-operation with the Economic Zones Company, Manateq, yesterday organised a number of sporting and recreational activities at the Katara Cultural Village to mark Qatar National Sport Day.The event attracted a large number of community members. Through this year’s variety of sports activities and recreational competitions, the ministry aimed at encouraging families and community members of all age groups to exercise and engage in physical activities.The event was also aimed at raising awareness of the importance of sports and its role in the daily life of human beings in addition to encouraging community members to exercise throughout the year. The event contributed to promoting the values of co-operation and solidarity among community members in a casual and entertaining atmosphere.The ministry’s activities included recreational competitions and sports tournaments including beach volleyball, children football, boxing, table tennis, and billiards and table football.
