Six top hotels chosen to host gymnasts, officials of Doha Worlds

The Organising Committee for the 48th Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Doha has chosen six hotels to host the athletes, officials and visiting mediapersons for the tournament to be held at the Aspire Dome from October 25 to November 3. The partnership agreements with the hotels were signed at an event at Hotel Westin, one of the official hotel for the championships, on Wednesday. The other of the six chosen hotels include the Torch Hotel, Radisson Blu, Ezdan, Movenpick and Holiday Villa. Ali al-Hitmi, Director of the Organising Committee and president Qatar Gymnastics Federation, expressed pleasure on signing the contracts with the hotels and thanked them for being partners in what will be a landmark championships being held for the first time in the Middle East.The Westin Hotel will be playing host to the official delegations, while Ezdan will host the participating teams. Over 600 gymnasts and several hundred officials will be representing 78 countries, besides officials of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) and tournament officials.Radisson Blu will play host to 33 of the participating delegations, while many other would be accommodated at the Torch Hotel. All officials refereeing at the championships will stationed at Movenpick, while the visiting media members will be put up at Holiday Villa.  Ali Abdulaziz al-Hammadi, Head of Accommodation at the Event Services Committee, said that the co-operation with the hotels was a clear reflection of the desire of all to provide the best of hospitality and services to all during the championships.  “The Organising Committee has provided two types of hotels, including 5-star hotels , And the other four-stars, it is up to each delegation to choose the right hotel for their stay,” he said.“The hotels have been keen to offer many free offers and services to the delegations in order to emphasise the provision of comfort for them, and we appreciate the great co-operation by various hotels to ensure the success of the tournament and live up to the distinct status of Qatar in hosting major events. “We have taken care of all security and safety measures to the fullest extent possible, and we are keen to provide all means to facilitate the delegations. We will also ensure that the food provided is commensurate with the different cultures of each participating delegation,” he explained.
