Ecuador embassy hosts ‘peace concert’

A music concert “Soul of  Peace” was hosted yesterday by the Ecuador embassy to mark the 20th anniversary of the peace agreement with Peru after the two countries fought a prolonged  battle that claimed many lives. American violinist Joo Young Oh and South Korean concert pianist Sonja Park were among the performers. Ecuador’s ambassador Ivonne A Baki, who participated in the negotiations that led to the peace treaty, and Peru’s envoy Carlos Velasco Mendiola spoke at the event at St Regis Doha. PICTURE: Nasar T K.
