Road closure to increase lane capacity

The Public Works Authority, Ashghal, has announced that it will close from tomorrow (Friday) for two months the existing U-turn and install a new temporary traffic signal at the junction of Al Busayer Street and Al Rayyan Al Jadeed Street. The closure, which will allow Ashghal to increase the lane capacity from two to four in each direction along Al Rayyan Al Jadeed Street, has been designed in co-ordination with the General Directorate of Traffic. As shown on the map, road users travelling eastbound on Al Rayyan Al Jadeed Street will be required to use the new temporary signal to turn left on to Al Busayer Street and head towards Al Rayyan Municipality and Al Shaqab area, or make a U-turn to travel towards Bani Hajer. They can also access Al Nayef Petrol Station from Al Busayer Street. Ashghal has requested all road users to abide by the speed limit, which has been reduced from 80kph to 50kph along the diversion routes, and follow the road signs to ensure safety.
