New hospital handed over to HMC in Mesaieed
The Private Engineering Office (PEO) on Tuesday handed over a hospital and a health center in Mesaieed Industrial City to Hamad Medical Corporation, in coordination with the Ministry of Public Health.Hamad Medical Corporation will equip the two health facilities to serve the workers in the southern part of the country.The hospital is part of three hospitals implemented by the Private Engineering Office to enhance the health sector and serve the health plan in the state. The hospitals also include Hazm Mebaireek General Hospital (HMGH) in the Industrial Area hospital, which the PEO handed over to Hamad Medical Corporation in November 2016, and Ras Laffan Hospital delivered in 2017.The three hospitals are expected to have significant impact in raising the level of the health service in general, as the new hospitals will absorb patients of the workforce in the areas they serve, thus reducing pressure on hospitals in Doha.
For his part, Chief of Health Facilities Development at HMC Hamad Al Khalifa said the new modern facility will contribute to the expansion of medical facilities network of in the country, and will provide medical care services for workers near their homes and workplaces.He noted that the concerned operational teams will begin a long and extensive process to equip the hospital with the required medical equipment and technical staff, and finalize the final arrangements to start the operation process as planned by the Ministry of Public Health.The new hospital in Mesaieed Industrial City will provide all the specialized medical services that serve the health plan established by the Ministry of Public Health. It has been equipped with a helicopter landing pad to transport the injured and the very urgent cases through what is known as the flying ambulance.The hospital is expected to receive 30 thousand patients monthly through three main entrances along with an entrance for ambulances, a central kitchen, a central laundry and morgue for the dead.The emergency building in the hospital occupies an area of 6,000 square meters and has a capacity of 30 beds to deal with emergencies, injuries, burns and accidents. The building also includes special equipped rooms for simple operations.The hospital, which has been constructed in accordance with the approved standard specifications, especially the construction of green buildings, is part of the State of Qatar target="_blank"'>
