Silatech holds ‘Youth Icon’ design competition

Doha-based Silatech has launched an opportunity for youth to share their talents in graphic design, through the “Youth Icon” competition.The competition provides an opportunity to engage talented youth in designing an icon that represents youth on an international level, Silatech has said in a statement.The winning design will be adopted as Silatech’s youth icon.The competition calls upon youth aged between 18 and 35 years to submit their designs.The deadline for submissions is October 18, and the winner will be announced on November 11.The initiative comes as part of Silatech’s initiatives aiming at empowering youth and promoting their role in their societies, the statement notes.The winner and creator of the icon will participate in launching it at an international event.The winner’s work will be highlighted in international and local media outlets as well as on all Silatech social media platforms.There will also be other prizes to support and motivate the winner.The jury will comprise experts in the art and design field, including those from Virginia Commonwealth University.Details of the application process and the terms and conditions are available on Silatech’s website, http://silatech.org/youth-icon-competition.Silatech seeks to help youth achieve their dreams, to live a decent life and achieve a world that allows them to work and participate in the economic development of their respective societies.Over the last 10 years, Silatech has secured around 900,000 jobs for youth in 17 countries, the statement adds.
