Attorney General, UN official discuss efforts to combat corruption

HE the Attorney General Ali bin Fetais Al Marri, who is also the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crimes' (UNDOC) Special Regional Advocate for the Prevention of Corruption, met at the UN office in Vienna with UN Under-Secretary-General and Executive Director of UNODC Yury Fedotov.

The two sides discussed the future initiatives of the special advocates, and agreed on a number of proposed subjects that can enhance transparency and integrity. They also discussed international strategies in the field of combatting corruption, which include many programmes that activate the United Nations Convention against Corruption. The two sides agreed that specialists must begin preparing for these activities and initiatives, as part of the global effort to combat corruption.
