AFG College with Aberdeen varsity gets BA permit

HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Mohamed Abdul Wahed Ali al-Hammadi yesterday issued a ministerial decision giving AFG College with the University of Aberdeen the permission to offer a BA with honours in both business and in accounting.The decision states that the permit is for four years and renewable.It also states that the university cannot offer any new academic programmes or remove any of the current ones without the approval of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, which can make those decisions so long as they don’t affect the interests of the students or the progress of the educational process.Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education has once again called on parents who wish to transfer their children from private Arab and international schools to public schools, to promptly complete the certificate equivalency procedures and avoid waiting till September, which will postpone the transaction resulting in missing the beginning of the academic year 2018-19 with their peers. The ministry also urged them to review the certificate equivalency section at the building annexed to the ministry located in C Ring Road in July and August to equalise the certificate issued from their private schools, in order to ensure their attendance in public schools from the start of the new academic year.In recent years, there has been an annual increase in the number of transfers from private schools to public schools by Qatari and non-Qatari students.
