Qatari Diar gets new CEO

Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment and Development Company (Qatari Diar) has announced the appointment of Eng Abdullah bin Hamad al-Attiyah, Board Member, as the company’s new CEO.The appointment came after the approval of the Board of Directors.This is within the framework of the company’s efforts to attract the finest national talents and expertise to join the executive management team in order to cater to the demands of its huge business growth and achieve its strategic objectives for future expansions locally and abroad, at a time when the country is growing rapidly and moving fast towards achieving the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.Eng al-Attiyah holds an MSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Nottingham, the UK (2008) and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cardiff University, the UK (2006).Since January 2017, he has served as assistant president at the Public Works Authority (Ashghal). Also, in January 2018, he was appointed vice-chairman of Qatar Primary Materials Company, before being appointed by the Board as acting CEO until early May.Eng al-Attiyah was named, from February 2014 until July 2015, as the acting Programme Management Office executive director at the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy and served as Onshore Development and Planning manager from December 2012 to January 2014 at RasGas Company Limited.He also worked for RasGas as senior project engineer from January 2011 until November 2012 and as an operations engineer at Qatar Petroleum from August 2001 until January 2011.
