QFZ gears up for World Cup last week with an overdose of excitement and entertainment

The Qatar Fan Zone (QFZ) at Ali Bin Hamad Al Attiyah Arena will feature more live performances to entertain football fans who will be watching the live screening of 2018 FIFA World Cup semifinal matches in Russia, it has been announced.Attracting more than 60,000 visitors so far since its opening on June 14, the fan zone reopens Tuesday after a two-day break Sunday and Monday.During this stage, the organisers said in a press statement, the fan zone’s music performances will feature Kuwaiti star Essa Almarzoug Tuesday, followed by his compatriot star, Ibrahim Dashti, on Wednesday. Both singers’ performances are for free and will begin at 7.30pm.The concerts will be preceded by other entertainment features starting at 4pm, including Russian folk dances, Pixel Poi and Diabolo shows, roaming parades and performances by LED drummers. Throughout the knockout and quarterfinal stages, football fans and music enthusiasts enjoyed live music performances by Moroccan star Hatim Ammor, world-renowned Rai icon Cheb Khaled, Iraqi singer Mohamed al-Fares and Lebanese artiste Ziad Bourji.
