Ministry recalls Dodge, Jeep and Chrysler vehicles

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC) has announced the recall of a number of Dodge, Jeep and Chrysler vehicles over a defect in the cruise control system.The recall has been announced in collaboration with United Cars Almana, dealer of Jeep, Dodge and Chrysler vehicles in Qatar.The MEC will co-ordinate with United Cars Almana to recall 2,518 vehicles over a defect in the cruise control system that could threaten the safety of road users and drivers of these cars across Qatar. Further, the ministry has said it will follow up on the maintenance and repair works and communicate with customers to ensure that the necessary repairs are carried out.The recall campaign includes the following models: 39 Jeep Wranglers (2018); 23 Jeep Cherokees (2014-2017); 1,458 Jeep Grand Cherokees (2014-2018); 104 Chrysler C300s (2014-2016); 487 Dodge Charger and Challengers (2014-2018); 407 Dodge Durangos (2014-2017). The ministry has informed vehicle owners of the recall campaign through various communication platforms. It also called on them to stop using the cruise control system to avoid any risks, and to contact the local agent to take the necessary measures to urgently rectify the situation.The ministry has urged all customers to report any violations through the call centre: 16001, e-mail: info@mec.gov.qa, Twitter: @MEC_Qatar, Instagram: MEC_Qatar and the mobile app for Android and iOS: MEC_QatarApple MacBook and MacBook Pro models recalledThe Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC), in collaboration with Ali Bin Ali, dealer of Apple in Qatar, has announced the recall of a number of Apple MacBook and MacBook Pro models of 2015, 2016 and 2017 due to the malfunction of character functions in the keyboard.The following MacBook have been recalled: MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports), MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2016, Two Thunderbolt 3 Ports), MacBook (Retina, 12-inch, Early 2015), MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2016), MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017, Two Thunderbolt 3 Ports), MacBook (Retina, 12-inch, Early 2016), MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2017), MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2016, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports) and MacBook (Retina, 12-inch, 2017).The MEC will co-ordinate with the dealer to follow up on the maintenance and repair works and communicate with customers to ensure that the necessary repairs are carried out.The ministry has urged all customers to report any violations to its Consumer Protection and Anti-Commercial Fraud Department.
