Majd Qatar book launched to highlight country’s achievements

A national campaign entitled the Qatar Glory Majd Qatar was launched here on Sunday night and a book of the same name was released highlighting Qatar’s achievements in the past five years in various fields.The campaign was initiated by the Tawasol Centre and was sponsored by a number of government and private bodies, on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani’s assumption of rule in the country.Sheikh Saud bin Abdullah Mohamed Jabor al-Thani, Chairman of the Tawasol Centre for Organisation, said: “Believing in our responsibility towards our country and an attempt to support the vision of Qatar 2030, which seeks to consolidate the best achievements and effective national projects on the ground, the Tawasol Centre has launched the Majd Qatar campaign to serve as an institution that highlights the most important national achievements, events and projects within the State and its importance in advancing development in political, economic, cultural, social and sports fields in Doha, where we seek through our projects and services to be witnesses and contributors to the national system that shows the remarkable progress and determination to achieve more success in our country under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir”.He said that efforts of this campaign worked for six consecutive months to produce the book Majd Qatar to be the beginning of documentation of the achievements of the State in various government or private sectors, based on social responsibility and contribute to supporting the 2030 vision.He pointed out that in order to keep abreast of developments and achievements, the publication of this book comes to highlight the accomplishments made during the past five years in various sectors during the era of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, as well as to focus on the achievements of last year, which witnessed the siege on the State of Qatar, stressing that the country looks forward to a bright future, which requires us to follow up and to pay attention to the achievements and development projects made.Sheikh Saud bin Abdullah Mohamed Jabor al-Thani said that the Centre will continue its efforts to introduce the country’s achievements in co-operation with the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics to achieve its mission and emphasise the importance of educating society about development in Qatar in accordance with international standards.He thanked all the supporters and participants in the campaign.The book, Majd Qatar, which was prepared by the Tawasol Centre, features three chapters: the first is about His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, covering biography, and the Amiri vision and directives, besides a number of His Highness the Amir’s achievements during the past five year.The second chapter covers achievements of the governmental sector, highlighting the accomplishments of a number of ministries such as health, municipal and environment, and several institutions and bodies such as the Public Works Authority (Ashghal), the Qatar Chamber of Commerce, the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC), and the Qatar Red Crescent, while the third chapter features the achievements of the media sector in Qatar, including Qatar TV, Al Rayyan Satellite TV and Qatar Radio.The book has been published in fine print and will be distributed to various ministries, sectors and libraries in order to promote Qatar’s glory and achievements.
