Cubs’ Heyward hits walk-off slam in win over Phillies

Jason Heyward hit a game-winning grand slam with two outs and two strikes in the bottom of the ninth inning, lifting the Chicago Cubs to a 7-5 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday night at Wrigley Field. Teammates mobbed Heyward near home plate after the towering, walk-off blast, which marked his third career grand slam. He drilled a high fastball into the right field bleachers to even the series at one game apiece. Anthony Rizzo also homered for Chicago.The Cubs trailed by two runs before loading the bases in the ninth to set up Heyward’s heroics.
