QRCS distributes food packages to 2,400 families in Yemen
Qatar Red Crescent Society's (QRCS) mission in Yemen has initiated a Ramadan Iftar food aid project for poor households and vulnerable groups in two governorates, under the annual Ramadan Campaign 1439 AH.
The project has so far covered 2,400 households (around 16,800 people) in Taiz and Amanat Al-Asimah, each receiving 1,200 food parcels with diverse staples such as rice, flour, sugar, vegetable oil and beans, QRCS has said in a statement.In Taiz governorate, work has been completed to distribute 400 parcels in Dhubab/Sabir Al-Mawadim districts, 400 parcels in Jabal Habashy district, 300 parcels in Maqbanah district and 100 parcels in Al-Mawasit district.As for Amanat Al-Asimah governorate, work is still in progress to deliver 50 parcels to Al-Tahadi Society for People with Physical Disabilities, 50 parcels to Home for the Blind, 100 parcels to Al-Aman Home for Blind Female Care, 200 parcels to Home for Orphan Care and Rehabilitation, 50 parcels to Dar Al-Takaful Orphanage, 50 parcels to Al-Liwaa Female Orphanage and 50 parcels to Al-Wiaam Center for Battered Women, the statement notes.Other areas with beneficiaries include As-Sabain district (200 parcels), the Al-Hasbah neighbourhood (150) and Shu'aub district (300).
