Los Angeles Angels star Mike Trout belted a career-best five hits – for a total of 11 bases – in an 11-4 Major League Baseball victory Saturday over the New York Yankees.“It’s always fun to play here and against the Yankees,” said Trout, whose four extra-base hits were also a career-best. “I see the ball good.”Trout’s night included a 419-foot (128m) home run, a double that was clocked at 109 miles per hour (175km/h), and an infield single. He drove in four runs and scored three.“He had a night that was incredible.” said Angels manager Mike Scioscia, whose team trailed 4-1 then scored the game’s next 10 runs. “We needed it.”Trout drove in a run with a first-pitch double off the left-field wall to put the Angels on the board in the first inning – his 600th career run-batted-in.But the Yankees led 4-1 after the second inning thanks to home runs from Brett Gardner and Aaron Judge in the bottom of the first and a homer from Austin Romine in the second. The Angels pulled within one run in the third inning, and took the lead for good on Trout’s two-run homer in the fourth.Trout jumped on a low slider from Yankees starting pitcher Sonny Gray, launching it to left center field. It was Trout’s third home run in as many games and his 17th of the season, tying him with the Red Sox’s Mookie Betts for the major league lead. “It’s awesome,” Trout said. “Just the preparation and working on timing and it paid off tonight. I was just getting pitches where I like it and I wasn’t missing them.”Belt’s late RBIs help Giants edge Cubs 5-4Brandon Crawford hit a two-run home run and Brandon Belt drove in the tiebreaking and eventual game-winning run Saturday night as the San Francisco Giants edged the Chicago Cubs 5-4 at Wrigley Field in Chicago.Gorkys Hernandez went 3-for-5 with two runs scored out of the leadoff spot for San Francisco while starter Chris Stratton (6-3) got the win.
