Qatar Charity opens 3 new collection points

The Qatar Charity (QC) has opened three new collection points at Al-Ahli Hospital, Mall of Qatar and Mirqab Mall to facilitate easy access to donors as well as it organised a number of courses and workshops to enhance the abilities of its collectors to deal with benefactors and the masses.With the opening of these three collection points, the number has risen up to 95 collection points located in malls, hospitals and other places. The charity also has 1,477 donation boxes, 162 collectors, and 64 electronic donation machines across the country. Earlier, the Qatar Charity had opened six new branches in Muaither, Al Khor, Al Wakrah and Abu Hamour to work more closely with the Qatari community and facilitate an easy access to donors in their residential areas to make their donations. With the opening of these new collection branches, the number of QC branches has risen to 25, including 16 for men and nine for women, across different parts of the country.Director of the Collection Department at QC, Amer al-Busairi, said the opening of new collection points and new local branches will help serve the community easily by simplifying the donation procedures for citizens and residents, quickly completing their transactions and receiving donations using the best means. Al-Busari added that the new collection points will contribute to the expansion of the QC’s capacity to easily collect donations and receive alms, noting that the new branches receive material and in-kind donations.Al-Busairi also pointed out that the cash and in-kind collection points of different types, scattered all over the country, are the mainstay of the QC to bring in the resources and revenues necessary to implement its humanitarian projects, programmes and activities across the globe.Also, donations can be made easily through the Qatar Charity website (https://www.qcharity.org) and its app (qch.qa/q/app).Al-Busairi noted that on Fridays, QC’s collection points will remain open after Friday prayer until 10pm to receive donations from donors and respond to their queries.On the advent of the holy month of Ramadan, QC has organised a number of courses and workshops to enhance the abilities of its collectors to deal with donors and the masses.The collectors expressed happiness at participating in these workshops, which increased their ability to work effectively and deal well with donors.Al-Busairi thanked all employees of the collection department for their continuous efforts throughout the year.Most of the executive managements of Qatar Charity participated in the delivery of the courses and workshops. The Zakat Section held several courses on Zakat accounting for employees of the Collection Department, aiming to raise the awareness among them regarding the importance of Zakat in the development of communities, and develop staff competency in the calculation of Zakat.
