DPS-MIS win inter-school table tennis

DPS-MIS School bagged the overall champion’s trophy in 2nd ISC Inter-School Table Tennis Tournament, which was organised by Indian Sports Centre (ISC) in association with Qatar Table Tennis Association (QTTA), on Saturday.The annual tournament, which was held at QTTA Training Centre in Ras Bu Aboud, was started by Indian Sports Centre (under the patronage of Embassy of India). ISC organised the tournament across three categories each for boys and girls, including U10, U12 and U14. MES Indian School, Ideal Indian school, DPS-MIS School, Birla Public School, Al Khor International school and Rajagiri Public school participated in the tournament.DPS-MIS swept the three categories for girls, and topped the boys U10 category to be crowned the overall champion. Al Khor International School finished as runners-up in three categories behind DPS-MIS, with Ideal Indian School finishing second in girls U14 category.MES Indian School won the boys U12 and U14 categories with DPS-MIS taking the runners-up spot in both.QTTA general secretary Mohamed Abdulla Saleh was the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony.  Other dignitaries present for prize distribution ceremony were QTTA Technical Director and Qatar national team head coach Ziad Mahmood, ISC president Nilangshu Dey and ISC general secretary M Habibun Nabi.Saleh, while expressing support for the Indian community, mentioned that they want to associate with the community on many events, to be organised jointly. He cheered all the schools for their larger participation in the tournament and congratulated the winners and runners-up. He distributed trophies, medals and prizes to the winners.
