Qatari company Excelledia chooses Northern Ireland as its European base

Excelledia Quality Consulting, a Qatari company, is opening a 22 strong innovation centre in Belfast, Northern Ireland in a drive to grow its business across Europe.Excelledia is a business improvement and management consulting firm helping organisations become “more efficient, effective and financially profitable.”With offices in the Middle East and India the company provides process improvement initiatives to over 300 customers across government and the private sector.British ambassador Ajay Sharma welcomed the move and praised the work done by Invest Northern Ireland’s Qatar office in securing the deal. “I am delighted that Excelledia – a Qatari company – has chosen Northern Ireland as its European base. This highlights the strong links between the UK and Qatar and the growing relationship between Belfast and Doha.”The Doha office of Invest Northern Ireland has been open for just over a year and sits within the British Embassy. It is one of 10 new international offices opened by Invest NI recently.Mohamed Farooque, CEO, Excelledia said: “We began exploring locations for a new centre late last year. We wanted to be based somewhere that would enable us to offer our consulting, training and technology solution services to potential clients across the globe.“We were very impressed by the knowledge and experience in the local universities (Ulster University, Queen’s University Belfast) and hope to work with them as part of the process of developing innovative technology solutions, particularly in addressing the compliance issues surrounding ISO, GDPR and other major business frameworks.“The culture of close links between academia, business and government agencies in Northern Ireland is particularly attractive and added to our decision to choose to locate here.”Invest Northern Ireland is part of the Department for the Economy. It supports new and existing businesses in Northern Ireland to grow and compete internationally and promotes Northern Ireland as a UK/European location for investment and a destination for education from boarding schools through to post graduate study.
