The Princeton Review (TPR) and ScorePlus Qatar, having completed a decade of excellence in providing finer education, celebrated the occasion by conducting the third National Counselors’ Toolkit Seminar.It was attended by around 50 counsellors and student advisers from different schools across Qatar, as well as dignitaries from the US embassy and Ministry of Education and Higher Education.The seminar was inaugurated by Melissa Deschamps (Education USA), who spoke about the role that her organisation plays in the Middle East and North Africa. Pradeep Singhal (ScorePlus Qatar), welcomed the guests and highlighted how in the past decade ScorePlus Qatar, in keeping quality education at the heart of its vision, has ensured students’ success in both exam preparation and admissions. The keynote speakers included Michael Gamerl (vice president of TPR-US), who enlightened the attendees in helping students decide their ideal colleges in order to design their careers. He extended his speech by untangling the US admissions process. Claire Cecil (Doha College) and Jacqueline Nottingham (Academic Bridge Programme), provided all-inclusive information on demystifying UK admissions and managing UCAS application components. In the panel of speakers were also Mohamed Younes (Texas A&M at Qatar) and Steven Williams (ScorePlus Qatar). Finally, Sara Miletic (Qatar International School), explained the latest admission trends in Canada and Australia. She also addressed concerns over visa issues that many students from the Middle East face when applying to Australian universities. The seminar was concluded by director of Scoreplus Education, Ritu Kalwani, who thanked the panellists.
