HE Minister of Administrative Development, labor and Social Affairs Dr Issa bin Saad Al Jafali Al Nuaimi launched the "smart jacket" for workers on Saturday. The jacket invented by a Qatari engineer and launched Saturday on the sidelines of the 2nd Occupational Safety and Health Conference, features a helmet with a cooling system, and a chip that sends warning signals if it detects rapid heartbeat or increased breathing. On receiving the signals that indicate the health condition of the worker, the control room can take appropriate action. The tracking device works by solar power and includes an audio communication system.
