A new pedestrian bridge built across the Airport Road (Al Matar Street) near the Qatar Airways headquarters and Ooredoo office was opened on Wednesday evening.
To mark its formal opening, Ashghal president and senior engineer Saad bin Ahmed al-Muhannadi cut a ribbon in the presence of senior Ashghal and Ministry of Interior officials.Al-Muhannadi said the Airport Road pedestrian bridge is the result of the continuous co-operation and co-ordination between all the entities concerned in Qatar, both from the government and private sectors. "The areas for installing such bridges were selected after conducting a study by the MoI, Ministry of Transport and Communications and Ashghal", he explained. The areas selected for such bridges experience heavy traffic density and have had traffic accidents involving pedestrians, it is learnt.
