Trees planted in green drive

Dignitaries plant a sapling as part of the green campaign. The Ministry of Culture and Sports held yesterday an environmental campaign involving the planting trees at Rawdat Al Hashm in northern Qatar. The campaign was conducted under the patronage and in the presence of HE the Minister of Culture and Sports Salah bin Ghanem bin Nasser al-Ali. The initiative was carried out in co-operation with Friends of the Environment Centre, the Department of Agricultural Affairs at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment as well as youth centres and sports clubs. It saw the participation of some 400 youngsters from various clubs and youth centres. The campaign included the planting of more than 300 trees of various local varieties. In addition, a cleanup drive was also conducted in the area.
