Impressive al-Naimi grabs his first Superpole of the season

For first time this season, Qatar’s Mishal al-Naimi took the Superpolefor the fourth round of the Qatar Superstock 600 yesterday at LosailInternational Circuit.With a very hot track conditions, al-Naimi managed to make a lap time of 2:04.383 secs and will start from the first row today.“Today it was very difficult for me from the beginning and I startedvery slow this morning. I tried to push because last week I did2.03.7secs and today I tried to go to 2.04 but it was impossible. In theFree Practice 2, I put new tyres to see if I can improve but the laptime was the same,” said al-Naimi.“In the Superpole I found something in the steering dumper, last week itwas harder and today it was different, so when I made it harder I felt abig difference and managed to make a good lap time of 2:04.3sec,” headded.Saeed al-Sulaiti will start from the second place on the grid. “Today westarted the free practices, with a really hot temperature, trying tofind the right set up with the bike and we thought that we found thesolution but unfortunately we were not fast enough,” he said.“For tomorrow we will do some changes to feel better with the bike andhope we can find the right strategy that can take us to fight for thevictory. I am really happy that Abdullah will start from the first rowfor the first time. He did it amazing today and his lap timing is reallyfast, improving a lot and I hope he can stay with us tomorrow in therace.” Al-Sulaiti added.Abdullah al-Qubaisi and Nasser al-Malki will start in third and fourth place respectively from the grid.In the QSTK Trophy, the fastest rider was Essa al-Mutawa. Soud al-Thaniand the Kuwaiti rider Mohammad al-Zaidan finished second and thirdrespectively in QSTK Trophy.Al-Mutawa was very happy with his performance today. “I am very happy tobe the fastest rider in the QSTK Trophy and tomorrow I am ready to racefor the victory. I have been training very hard during this last monthand I have to do some small changes in the set up and I hope we can fixit and be 100% ready for tomorrow,” said Al MutAwa.Today, the QSTK Race 1 starts at 11:30am, while Race 2 is at 15:30. Theentrance is free at the Grandstand and Paddock for spectators.
