Ndamukong Suh, considered by many the top free agent left on the NFL market, officially has a new home. The Los Angeles Rams announced Monday they have signed the feared defensive tackle to a one-year deal. The contract will be worth $14 million, according to multiple reports, about $5 million less than what he made annually with the Miami Dolphins, who released him two weeks ago.“We are excited have Ndamukong as a part of the Los Angeles Rams,” general manager Les Snead said in a statement the Rams released. “He’s been an outstanding player in this league and we are looking forward to him being a part of our defense.”The 31-year-old Suh also visited the Tennessee Titans and New Orleans Saints last week and had a meeting scheduled with the Oakland Raiders before he cancelled it.The New York Jets were also considered strong contenders for the services of the 6-foot-4, 305 pound veteran, reportedly offering him more money, but they pulled their offer off the table this week. The No. 2 overall pick of the 2010 draft by the Detroit Lions, Suh has been dominant at times, recording 51.5 sacks – including 10 his rookie year – across eight seasons and never missing a game due to injury. He’s also been selected to five Pro Bowls.Suh spent five years with the Lions before moving to the Dolphins as a free agent to begin the 2015 season. He had 4.5 sacks last season and forced two fumbles. The Dolphins released him earlier this month – halfway through a six-year, $114 million contract – in a salary-saving move.Suh joins a Rams team attempting to upgrade their defense with the additions of cornerbacks Marcus Peters and Aqib Talib. He will play on a defensive line that already includes last season’s Defensive Player of the Year, defensive tackle Aaron Donald.
