Envoy: Belgium ready to provide solutions for waste treatment

Belgiumcould provide highly advanced technological solutions for agricultureand waste treatment to meet the growing requirements of Qatar in thefuture, Belgium ambassador Bart de Groof told Gulf Times yesterday.“Belgium’sefforts in these fields have been hailed at many international forumsover the years,” he explained during a visit to the booth of theMinistry of Municipality and Environment’s Waste Centre at the 6th QatarInternational Agricultural Exhibition (AgriteQ 2018).Whileexpressing happiness at the performance of the disposable wastetreatment treatment plant in Mesaieed, ambassador de Groof said similartechnologies are at work in different parts of Belgium.The envoysaid a growing country like Qatar which has experienced a steep growthin  population in the last one decade would certainly require in futuremore plants like the facility in Mesaieed and hoped Belgium’stechnologies and capabilities would be showcased at a future date to thelocal authorities.Similarly, Belgium also possesses effectiveagricultural technologies to enhance output from the local farms, hepointed out while highlighting new technologies and scientific cropresearches in the European nation that combined to produce greateryields.
