Former director of education at Apple visits Qatar Foundation

Representativesfrom the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE), an initiative ofQatar Foundation (QF), recently met with Alan Greenberg, director ofWideacademy and former head of Education at Apple, during his visit toQatar.At Apple, Greenberg was responsible for the deployment of anumber of flagship projects, including iTunes University and iTunesPodcast. As an early proponent of podcasts, Greenberg sees the spokenword as having as much relevance today as ever before: “In educationterms, I think podcasts are underrated.”In line with the belief thatknowledge sharing can help produce better outcomes, WISE has releasedits own podcast series, ‘WISE Words’ that facilitates in-depthdiscussions about the latest developments in global education.Greenberg’svisit included a tour of Education City, taking in the College ofIslamic Studies, Education City Mosque, and QF Headquarters.Wideacademyis an education and thought leadership platform connecting innovators,practitioners, and audiences in the stem cell and life scienceindustries. Greenberg also met with officials from the World InnovationSummit for Health as part of his visit.
