Qatar Foundation signs MoUs with leading research entities

HE Sheikha Hind bint Hamad al-Thani signs an MoU with Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) and Iberdrola QSTP LLC.
HE Sheikha Hind bint Hamad al-Thani, vice chairperson and CEO of QatarFoundation (QF), signed three Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) tostrengthen and promote the local research and development ecosystem onthe sidelines of the Qatar Foundation Annual Research Conference 2018(ARC’18) that got underway yesterday.The agreements were signed with  Qatar General Electricity and WaterCorporation (Kahramaa) and Iberdrola QSTP LLC, the European Federationof Corrosion (EFC), and the Malaysian Industry-Government Group for HighTechnology (MIGHT). Sheikha Hind said, “At Qatar Foundation we collaborate with stakeholdersin the public and private sectors to shape the future of research anddevelopment, both locally and globally, in order to create innovativesolutions to today’s most pressing challenges.“We are delighted, therefore, to be joining hands with these leadingentities today. These partnerships will allow us to work together todeliver impact across the nation and beyond, and to further contributeto the development of Qatar. “This is particularly pertinent today, at the Qatar Foundation Annual Research Conference 2018.”The collaboration between Kahramaa and Iberdrola will help to facilitatekey developments within the energy and environment sectors in Qatar. The MoU with the EFC will also help to further address areas ofnational priority within the field of energy and environment. Theagreement with MIGHT has been designed to pave the way formutually-beneficial research, innovation, and technology developmentcollaborations between Qatar and Malaysia.ARC’18 is taking place at the Qatar National Convention Centre and will conclude today.
