PM attends Arab Interior Ministers Council session

HEthe Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasserbin Khalifa al-Thani participated in the opening of the 35th session ofArab Interior Ministers Council, held at the International ConferenceCenter at the Algerian capital yesterday.The session was attended bythe interior ministers of the Arab countries, high-level securitydelegations and representatives from the Arab League, Gulf Co-operationCouncil, Arab Maghreb Union, International Criminal Police Organisation(Interpol), International Civil Defence Organisation, Arab TourismOrganisation, Arab Authority for Civil Aviation, Naif Arab Universityfor Security Sciences and Arab Police Sports Federation.The sessiondiscussed a number of topics on the agenda such as the report of theArab Interior Ministers Council secretary-general on the work of thesecretariat between the 34th and 35th sessions, ninth Arab securitydraft plan, seventh Arab media briefing for security awareness draftplan and crime prevention.The participants will also discuss sixthphase of the Arab strategy for traffic safety draft plan, draft plan toimplement the Arab strategy for intellectual security. In addition, thesessions will discuss recommendations issued by conferences and meetingsheld within the secretariat, results of the joint meetings between Araband international institutions during 2017, in addition to a number ofother important topics.PM meets Arab ministers of interiorHEthe Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasserbin Khalifa al-Thani met yesterday in the Algerian capital Algiers with anumber of Arab ministers of interior taking part in the 35th session ofArab Interior Ministers Council.The Prime Minister met withPalestine’s Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Rami al-Hamdellah,Iraq’s Minister of Interior Qasim al-Araji, Lebanon’s Minister ofInterior and Municipalities Nohad El Machnouk, Somalia’s Minister ofInternal Security Mohamed Abukar Islow Dualle, Jordan’s Minister ofInterior Samir Mubaidin.The meetings focused on bilateral ties andthe means to enhance them in all fields, particularly security-relatedones. They also discussed a number of subjects on the agenda of the 35thsession of Arab Interior Ministers Council. PM meets Algerian counterpart: The Prime Minister met yesterday Algeria’s Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia.Duringthe meeting, they discussed the bilateral co-operation and the means ofboosting them in various fields. They also reviewed the latestdevelopments in the Arab world and internationally.
