Abdulsalam Abu Issa is new CEO of Salam InternationalSalam International’s board of directors during its meeting yesterday decided to appoint Abdulsalam Issa Abu Issa as its chief executive officer.Abu Issa holds a master’s degree in International Finance and Economics from the University of Newcastle. Prior to joining Salam International, he worked in several sectors, most notably oil and gas, banking and road construction.Abu Issa joined Salam International in 2012 and has served as a board member and deputy chief operating officer.Meanwhile, Salam International Investment (SIIL) general assembly elected a new board of directors, with a term of office of three years (2018-2020), composed of Issa Abdulsalam Mohamed Abu Issa, Hussam Abdulsalam Mohamed Abu Issa,  Sheikh Nawaf Nasser Khaled Ahmed al-Thani (representing Doha Insurance Company), Nasser Suleiman Haidar Mohamed al-Haidar, Hani Abdelkader al-Kadi (Arab Jordan Investment Bank – Qatar), Sheikh Ali Ghanem al-Thani (Ali Bin Ghanem Al Thani Group), Ali Haidar Suleiman Haidar (Suleiman Brothers Co), Jassim Mohamed Abdulghani al-Mansouri, Bassam Abdulsalam Mohamed Abu Issa, Abdulsalam Issa Abu Issa and Badr Ali Hussein Ali Sada.The general assembly decided not to distribute any dividends for the year 2017.The general assembly approved the auditors’ report by KPMG detailing the company’s consolidated balance sheets and profit and loss statement for the year ending December 31, 2017 that showed a net loss of QR100.7mn.Qatar and Pakistan to hold business, investment opportunities conferencePublic and private sector entities from Qatar and Pakistan will be participating in the ‘Pak-Qatar Business & Investment Opportunities Conference’ slated tomorrow at the InterContinental Doha.Businesses from Pakistan representing diversified sectors, including cement, construction, electric cables, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, real estate, interior decoration, handicraft and jewellery, hotel, furniture and related equipment, textile, and service sectors like IT and security will be part of the Pakistani delegation.On the Qatar side, representatives from special economic zone provider and developer Manateq, Single Window Committee, and the Ministry of Economy and Commerce will also participate in the conference.The event is an initiative of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Pakistan, and supported by the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.Pakistani ambassador Shahzad Ahmad and the chairman of Pakistan’s Security and Exchange Commission, Zafar Abdullah, will address the conference.
