Winter Olympics closing ceremony begins in Pyeongchang

The Winter Olympics closing ceremony began late Sunday in Pyeongchang, bringing to an end 17 days of sports action.

The two-hour ceremony, which is themed ‘The Next Wave,’ has a key message of the affirmation of life and peace, and will feature traditional and contemporary Korean arts, organizers said in advance.

Athletes who participated in the Games are set to walk through the stadium and International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach will also speak, giving his verdict on the Games.

South Korean President Moon Jae In, as well as White House adviser Ivanka Trump, are among the dignitaries in attendance at the Pyeongchang Olympic Stadium.
