Vodafone, Mango partner for high-tech fitting rooms

Vodafoneannounced yesterday that it is working with Mango, the global highstreet fashion retailer, on a new programme to rollout digital fittingrooms to the company’s top stores worldwide.The digital fitting roomhas been designed around a new Internet of Things (IoT) digital mirrordesigned by Mango, developed by Vodafone in collaboration with Jogotech,which will allow the shopper to scan the clothes tags in the fittingroom and then contact shop floor staff directly from the mirror, througha digital watch, to request different sizes or colours.The mirror will also suggest additional clothes to complement the original choice.Mango’saim is to extend the digital fitting room to its top stores and willhelp to blend the online and real world shopping experiences for Mangocustomers.This is the first phase of a digital transformationproject for Mango to create new ways for customers to engage and relateto the brand.Vodafone IoT director Stefano Gastaut said: “Thisproject helps put more power at the shopper’s fingertips and will bringMango closer to its fashion conscious shoppers and offer them moreoptions and experiences than a conventional fitting room.”Mango’s chief client officer Guillermo Corominas added: “This is a really exciting project for Mango.We see the future of retailing as a blend of the online and the offline.Thesenew fitting rooms are another step in the digital transformation of ourstores to create a whole new experience for our customers.”Mango was founded in 1984 and today is one of the leading fashion groups in the world.Based in its city of origin, Barcelona, it has an extensive store network of 800,000sq m in 110 countries, including Qatar.
