Somalis stand with the Emir and Qatar

Dear sir,Onbehalf of the Somalis living in Qatar I wish to congratulate HisHighness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and the people ofQatar for successfully tackling the unjust blockade imposed on thecountry by Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt.We Somalisstrongly condemn the blockade. Many of our children and grandchildrenwere born in Qatar and they don’t have any other country to call home. Icame to Qatar in 1969 and have seen with my own eyes the progress madeby Qatar, thanks to its wise leadership.Somalis work in largenumbers, both in the private and public sectors, including the militaryand police departments and pledge their support for Qatar.Qatar has always stood by the Somali people in times of crises for which we aregrateful. We also thank Qatar for supporting the poor and the needy,including those suffering in war zones like Syria, Palestine, Yemen,Afghanistan and Iraq.The Somalis stand by Qatar in its efforts to chart a peaceful and prosperous future for everyone.Ahmed Ali Adam. Iwas a witness when, a few years ago, my friend was involved in anaccident at his workplace. He was rushed to HMC Emergency where he wasdiagnosed with serious injury to his backbone. He underwent medicaltreatment for about a year, after which he was able to walk and drive.During the treatment his caregivers would take him in a wheelchair toparks and other recreational facilities to keep his spirits up. Whereelse in the world can one get such treatment! What’s more, themedical commission ordered his company to pay him a compensation ofabout QR300,000 as he did not have medical insurance. The employer gavethe amount to him promptly and he was flown to India where he ispresently living. We can’t forget the services rendered by the HMCto the public. Presently, my treatment is going on in Wakra Hospital forsome health problems. The service of their staff is fantastic and theygive me maximum care. Also the medicine cost is very reasonable and Ican afford it. Once more, I give my appreciation for the superb service rendered by Hamad Medical Corporation. Keep it up!C K Krishnan.
