Ooredoo takes call on sporting action

Ooredoo has announced the success of its National Sport Day activitiesheld at the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) Park with hundreds of familiesand friends attending the event. The Sport Day event offered over 40 sporting activities available freeof charge, the telecommunications provider said in a statement. Highlights of the day included the Ooredoo vs Qatar Football Leaguefriendly match, featuring Mubarak Mustafa, Al Mu’zz Ali, Talalal-Bloushi, Mohamed Salem al-Mal, Mohsen al-Yazidi, Saud al-Hajri,Abdulla Taleb, and Ahmed Kanoo from Oman. Other popular activities were the human chess game, and an inflatable zone, which attracted families and a host of people.Mini-golf, boxing, table tennis, archery, tug-of-war, karate, aerobics,basketball, and more were also available during the event. On top of free sporting activities, Ooredoo encouraged people to walkMIA Park in order to receive up to 750 Nojoom points. Manar Khalifaal-Muraikhi, Director of PR and Corporate Communications at Ooredoo,said: “We’re extremely happy with the outcome of our Sport Day 2018event. This was the seventh year that Ooredoo has partnered with MIAPark to bring Qatar’s communities together and this year we had moreactivities and participants than ever before.” As well as sporting activities, healthy food options were sold at thepark alongside fresh juice and water, and Ooredoo encouraged families tobring a picnic and enjoy the daylong event.  “We hope our Sport Day event enabled everyone to try out a range of newsports and activities and we encourage everyone in Qatar to try and keepthese activities up throughout the year, to become healthier andfitter,” al-Muraikhi added. Ooredoo’s support for National Sport Day is part of its ongoingcommitment to raise awareness of the importance of fitness and health tothe people of Qatar.
