AFG College, NBK Holding, Al Waab City host Fun Run

Celebrating the National Sport Day, AFG College with the University ofAberdeen in collaboration with NBK Holding and Al Waab City organised aFun Run at Al Ghariya Street in Al Waab area.Attended by Dr Sheikha Aisha bint Faleh  al-Thani, founder and chiefexecutive officer of Al Faleh Educational Holding; Sheikh Nawaf binNasser al-Thani, chairman and CEO NBK Holding; Sheikh Nasser bin Nawaf al-Thani, second deputy CEO of NBK Holding; Brian Buckley principal ofAFG College with the University of Aberdeen and senior representativesof the sponsors and supporting companies, the event attracted hugecrowds of different ages including students, employees and theirfamilies. The proceeds generated from this event were donated to Education AboveAll. Sheikha Aisha presented the cheque to Jawaher Kafoud,representative of the non-profit organisation which supports educationof children in different parts of the world.Dr Sheikha Aisha said, “The National Sport Day is a celebration of ournation’s commitment to fitness and a healthy lifestyle. AFG College withthe University of Aberdeen as well as Doha Academy staff and studentscelebrated the National Sport Day alongside our partners NBK Holding, AlWaab City and the rest of our sponsors. It is great to see that 300enthusiasts applied to participate in the first Fun Run and other sportsactivities. We have a great role model in His Highness the Emir SheikhTamim bin Hamad al-Thani.”Sheikh Nawaf commented, “NBK Holding and its subsidiaries are proud tobe part of the National Sport Day. This reiterates our commitmenttowards our community and our wise leadership who allocated a specialday for sport. We will continue our support to all similar initiativeswhich enhances the health of our community and promotes a healthy andsporty lifestyle.”The Fun Run event, offered a range of added attractions, including,children’s  games, the Harley Davidson Qatar Chapter motorbike convoy, adisplay of new Mercedes-Benz and Mitsubishi vehicles as well as otherfamily activities.
