Thedemand to shut down Al Jazeera by the four blockading countries isanother form of pressure tactic, Doha resident Mir Mohammal Ali toldQatar Urdu Radio’s live show Haqeeqat yesterday. Ali spoke about therenewed calls to adhere to a list of 13 demands by Saudi Arabia, theUAE, Bahrain and Egypt for Qatar to accept in the aftermath of the siegethat was illegally imposed since June 5 last year. “The fact thatthe blockading countries are targeting media shows they do not wantpeople to know the truth in the region. But it is the job of the mediato report truth and reality on ground.”Ali said that despite theblockade, Qatar’s market was growing steadily. “Whether you look at thefood market, businesses or constructions materials, you will see thereis steady supply in the market and that has secured Qatar’s growth andstability.”Haqeeqat is a joint venture of Gulf Times and Qatar MediaCorp Urdu Radio.
