The first phase of Qatar's QR14.5bn Water Security Mega Reservoirs Project, which can store as much as 1,500mn gallons of water in 15 reservoirs, is expected to be ready in the first half of this year.HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani was briefed about the project, the biggest of its kind in the world, by Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) president and senior engineer Issa bin Hilal al-Kuwari on Thursday.The Prime Minister appreciated the ongoing works during a visit to to one of the sites under the project in Al Thumama. Al-Kuwari thanked the Prime Minister for his consistent support and encouragement. "The visit reflected how much the state is concerned about uninterrupted water supply and how vital is the water sector is for ensuring food security for the country's residents," al-Kuwari said in a statement.
