ExxonMobil co-hosts tennis clinic with QTF, introduces racing bike simulator

Inpartnership with the Qatar Tennis Federation (QTF), ExxonMobil Qatarhas been the title sponsor of the Qatar ExxonMobil Open for 24 years. Astitle sponsor, the company’s annual stand at the Public Village isdesigned to be creative and appealing, and includes a uniqueentertainment piece each year that draws visitors of all ages. ExxonMobilQatar has debuted a racing motorbike simulator at its stand in thetournament’s Public Village this year. The simulator offers a new andexciting motorbike racing experience for users. It comes in a set of twomotorbikes so people visiting the stand can compete against othervisitors.The simulator isn’t just for tournament-goers - several ofthis year’s line-up of tennis players have already visited theExxonMobil Qatar stand including Jamie Murray, Bruno Soares, RichardGasquet. If they’re lucky, visitors of the Public Village may get achance to see their favourite stars. Also as part of the tournamentactivities, ExxonMobil Qatar and QTF co-hosted an annual kids tennisclinic for children from the ExxonMobil Qatar community. Mirza Basicspent over an hour yesterday working with the young participants.During the entertaining and informal session, he helped the childrenstrengthen their hand eye coordination and build their confidence inmaking contact with the tennis ball.This is the fifth year that kidstennis clinics are offered to children as part of the broadertournament. The clinics provide upcoming tennis players with theopportunity to learn new skills from world-renowned tennis stars, anddevelop an interest in physical activities, as part of leading a healthylifestyle. They also promote a love for tennis and encourage childrento pursue the sport beyond a recreational activity. “We are honouredour children got to spend time with Mirza Basic at today’s kids clinic –I am grateful to ExxonMobil Qatar and the Qatar Tennis Federation forarranging this wonderful activity for them,” said Chris Warren, a parentform the ExxonMobil Qatar community.“I’m sure professional tennisplayers, including Mirza Basic started out like our kids did, withsomebody who got them interested in playing, and engaged them in playingthe sport. He taught the kids technique and gave them great tennistips, but I think the most important thing they learned from him todaywas that tennis is a social sport, and they should have fun when they’reon the court.”In line with the Qatar National Vision 2030,ExxonMobil is committed to supporting the State of Qatar’s sustainabledevelopment goals.
