Qatar Museums offers unique IDAM apprenticeship to up-and-coming Qatari chef

QatarMuseums (QM) has offered Qatari national Mohamed al-Sulaiti a uniqueapprenticeship at the Museum of Islamic Art’s (MIA) award-winningrestaurant, IDAM. Mohamed al-Sulaiti started his apprenticeship a monthago, after completing a series of IDAM masterclasses over the past year.The masterclasses, which focused on haute cuisine, were run byIDAM’s Executive Chef Damien Leroux and his team. During the classes,the team discussed their passion for gastronomy, shared some of theirlatest recipes and provided visitors with a first-hand look into IDAM’sseasonal menu themes, all of which are infused with a twist on localcuisine.IDAM’s Executive Chef, Damien Leroux, said: “Mohamed was aconstant fixture in our masterclasses over the past year and you couldclearly see his passion and dedication to the culinary arts. It’s thatdedication that inspired us to offer him a six-month apprenticeship thatwould allow him to grow and develop his skills working alongside theteam at IDAM.”He added: “This initiative is another example of QatarMuseums’ effort to nurture young talent and provide them with aplatform to flourish. We’re very excited to be training Mohamed andsharing our mutual appreciation for Qatari and French culinarytraditions and tastes.” Commenting on the apprenticeship, Mohamedal-Sulaiti said: “It is amazing that I’m an apprentice at AlainDucasse’s first restaurant in the Middle East and it is humbling beingin the kitchen with his fellow culinary giants. I love the environmentand the dynamics of the kitchen. It’s a real thrill, especially duringservice time. The excitement in the air pushes me to become better.
