Ooredoo Village attracts more than 30,000 visitors

The Ooredoo Village, a dedicated event hosted at Katara – the Cultural Village to celebrate Qatar National Day (QND), received more than 30,000 people from across the country. In a statement, Ooredoo said the Village featured numerous activities for all ages such as demonstrations, traditional music (Al Ardha), traditional food, technology and crafts from December 12 to 19. As an educational platform for children and expats, the company exhibited traditional swords and other items, including a ‘dala’ (traditional coffee pot) to showcase Qatar’s rich heritage.To entertain families, Ooredoo created an immersive desert experience with free camel rides and falcon handling, and a Qatari majlis serving Arabic coffee and tea. On December 18, the Ooredoo Village also had a live feed of the QND parade on the Corniche on a big screen.Ooredoo also paid the food bill of customers in selected restaurants at Katara from December 16 to 18 to promote togetherness, which included Chapatti and Karak, Sugar and Spice, Chac’Late, and Sukar Pasha. Ooredoo also held QND celebrations for its employees at its headquarters at West Bay. The event, which took place on December 14, invited all Ooredoo staff and their children “to gather and celebrate Qatar, and what being a Qatari company means for Ooredoo.”
