Al Shaqab, one of the most renowned equestrian centres in the world, has celebrated remarkable achievements over the past quarter of a century. These achievements are a result of Al Shaqab’s steadfast commitment to its vision of striving to be a leading equine centre of excellence.Coinciding with its 25th year anniversary, Al Shaqab recently revisited and refreshed its mission statement and brand identity to reaffirm its commitment to preserving Qatar’s rich equine heritage. The new mission statement embodies Al Shaqab’s vision as a world-class equestrian facility, namely: to set the highest standard of equine welfare, breeding, equine education and research; promote the Arabian horse and its revered legacy across the globe; developing, integrating and optimising utilisation of its assets and human capital towards making it a self-sustainable entity and engaging the community.Al Shaqab has set out to fulfil the human capital pillar of its mission statement by attracting local and international talents, inspiring young riders, trainers and equine enthusiasts of the future. The experts from all corners of the globe that Al Shaqab employs, along with local talents, are given an opportunity to further develop and enhance their expertise at the world-class facilities and, in turn, carry on the legacy of equine appreciation in Qatar.Since 2004, Al Shaqab has operated under the umbrella of Qatar Foundation, and through its ongoing activities and the hosting of high profile competitions, aligns itself with the Qatar National Vision 2030 to promote Qatar as a premier sporting destination.The new mission has also resulted in the unveiling of a new Al Shaqab logo, which was redesigned with the aim of reflecting Qatar’s national symbol – the newly adopted colour of maroon ties in with the country’s national pride while the distinct points depicted in the rebranding pay homage to the serrated edges on the Qatar national flag.Furthermore, the rebranding of the logo represents Al Shaqab’s global position as an equestrian centre at the forefront of equine excellence where old traditions merge with a modern approach to pave the way for a new path that works to fulfil and sustain its vision for the future.Al Shaqab is synonymous with breeding champion Arabian horses, and the redesigned logo  serves to honour many of its revered thoroughbreds, particularly Marwan Al Shaqab – the pride of Al Shaqab’s national breeding program – who is the prominent horse featured in the foreground of the logo.Al Shaqab’s continued success is testament to the key role it plays in Qatar, connecting history, culture, sport, business, and the community. The revamped Al Shaqab mission statement ensures the renowned equestrian centre is able to build on its achievements over the past 25 years, and continue to nurture equestrian sport while upholding Qatar’s equine heritage and tradition.
