GMC Tri-Series Race 1 winners announced

Winners of the GMC Tri-Series Race 1 race have been announced.Triathletes, young and old, were put through their paces at the recently held event. The triathlon was organised by TriDoha in association with Qatar Foundation and Z Adventures, with the event’s primary sponsor and Qatar’s exclusive GMC dealer – Mannai Auto Group – providing the winners’ medals.The series, packing in a run, cycle and swim, saw a turnout of more than 300 competitors in good conditions, according to a statement.TriDoha LLC (G) is triathlon club founded to serve triathletes of all abilities in Qatar. The club has about 400 members ranging from complete beginners to world-class triathletes, aged from seven years to adults.Ewan Cameron, race director and representative, Mannai Corporation, said: “We had another fantastic turnout and were seriously impressed with some of the times posted across all the categories. I would also like to thank our 40 volunteers for safely marshalling the events. Among them were 30 active triathletes who had given up the opportunity to race in order to support the event.“Given the calibre of the entrants, we are really looking forward to the next big event.”The next GMC Tri-Series race is planned for January 19, 2018. This event will also feature the annual Schools Championship and the Corporate Championship.The winners’ medals can be collected from the Mannai office (above the GMC showroom) at the Jabr bin Ahmed Intersection (old Ramada junction)/Salwa Road during regular office hours.
