Saeed Nasser al-Qadi mounting a 14-year-old gelding Daydreamer Ec clinched the feature event of the third leg of the Hathab National Equestrian series at the Al Shaqab arena yesterday.Saeed, who has made an habit of finishing on podium at the Hathab series, once again dazzled on the course on Daydreamer Ec in the Big Tour: 1.30/1.40m class. The pair blazed around the course without committing a penalty to finish fastest in 38.99secs, fetching Saeed a winner’s pursue of QR8,750.The second place went to Hamad Ali al-Attiyah, who piloted Clinton home in 39.84secs, while  Nasser al-Ghazali on Quel Homme completed the podium, with a 39.97 secs finish.In the Medium Tour 1.20/1.30m class, Rakan al-Hasawi on Denver emerged triumphant after a jump-off. The pair was the quickest combination topping the timesheets in 36.31secs. Faisal Abdulhadi al-Marri (Le Premier K) came second in 43.29secs, while Hamad Nasser al-Qadi (Jazly) finished third in 39.60secs despite committing four penalties. After three legs of the Hathab tour held at the Al Shaqab, the QR 1mn series moves to Qatar Equestrian Federation outdoor arena, with fourth leg scheduled to be held next weekend.Hathab, meaning ‘Canter’ in Arabic, is an initiative launched by Qatar Olympic Committee president HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad al-Thani. The series is being conducted jointly by Qatar Equestrian Federation (QEF) and Al Shaqab and will run till the next April over 12 legs.
