TheQatar Financial Centre Authority’s (QFCA) chief legal officer Nasseral-Taweel has been listed on the Legal 500 GC power list: Middle East,which recognises an array of the most influential and innovativein-house legal teams working in the region. He has extensiveexperience of both Qatari law and English law, and was one of the firstQataris to qualify as a solicitor in the Senior Courts of England andWales.In his current role at the QFC, al-Taweel heads a departmentof lawyers from various countries with extensive backgrounds and ensuresthat the QFC adopts and adheres to best internationally acceptedpractices in governance compliance.“The (QFC legal) department hasworked tirelessly to revamp and implement a working method based aroundbeing closer to the business and the industry, understanding their needsand focusing on the quality of work produced rather than quantity.
