Congresswoman Michele Bachmann of Minnesota threw her hat in the ring on Monday to seek the Republican presidential nomination.During a debate of presidential hopefuls in New Hampshire, Bachmann said she had filed paperwork to run for president and would make a formal announcement soon.Bachmann is a favourite on the political commentator circuit and has strong support among the very conservative Tea Party wing.The debate at Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire comes eight months before the state’s first-in-the-nation primary, and features seven candidates. Meanwhile, former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman said yesterday he will announce his bid for the Republican presidential nomination on June 21, formally kicking off his campaign for the White House.
