Domasco introduces all-new Honda Odyssey

Doha Marketing Services Company (Domasco), the exclusive distributor ofHonda in Qatar, has announced the launch of the all-new 2018 HondaOdyssey.With over 2.7mn units sold across four generations, the Odyssey is “oneof the most popular MPVs around the world”, according to a pressstatement.Faisal Sharif, managing director of Domasco, said: “We are thrilled tointroduce the all-new 2018 Honda Odyssey to the market. Theversatility and world-class technologies of the Odyssey contribute to awinning choice for our customers.”The exterior of the Odyssey has been redesigned to “portraysophisticated and modern new styling” that incorporates a signatureflying wing front grille with halogen headlights (in LX and EX-L) andLED headlights (in Touring) with Auto On-Off timer, making itenergy-efficient. Taillights with integrated LED light bars (standard inall grades) enhance its sporty and dynamic profile.The Odyssey can “easily accommodate up to eight passengers and amultitude of cargo in different shapes and sizes”, the statement notes.With the centre seat removed, the Magic Slide second-row seats can moveto the centre and forward allowing for convenient access to the thirdrow. The second-row Magic Slide seats can be customised into fourdifferent positions: Full, Wide, Super and Buddy modes.The Odyssey boasts of a new and soft touch instrument panel, whichincludes a full-colour and an interactive 8-inch Display Audio TouchScreen, Stop Start button, Electronic Parking Brake with Brake Holdfunction, ventilated seats and a new push button gear selector. Inaddition, there is a new 7-inch Digital Driver Information Interfacewith direct sight to the driver.The Odyssey offers the latest features in technology and connectivity.Some of the features on the Touring grade include an 8-inch DisplayAudio Touchscreen, Honda CabinWatch, Honda CabinTalk, Rear EntertainmentSystem, Premium Audio System, Wireless Charging and Multi-AngleRear-view Camera with Dynamic Guidelines.The MPV is also equipped with Active and Passive Safety specs such asthe Advanced Compatibility Engineering Body Structure, Multilink RearSuspension, a low centre of gravity chassis with revised damper andsteering geometry settings, Dual Pinion Steering and Variable GearRatio, Dual Stage Multiple Threshold Front Airbags, Front Side Airbags,Three Row Side Curtain Airbags, Drivers and Front Passengers KneeAirbags, Vehicle Stability Assist with Traction Control Systems,Anti-Lock Brake Systems, Electronic Brake Distributor, Agile HandlingAssist, Tire Pressure Monitor System and Hill Start Assist.Powering the 2018 Odyssey is a 3.5-litre direct injected i-VTEC 24-valveSOHC V6 engine with Variable Cylinder Management. This engine is matedto an all-new front wheel drive 10-speed automatic transmission withShift-By-Wire and Paddle Shifters producing 280hp@6,000rpm and a torqueof 355Nm@4,700rpm.The Touring grade is equipped with the Honda Sensing suite of safety anddriver-assistive technologies designed to alert motorists to thingsthey might miss while driving.
