48 nationals join QA Al Jossor programme

Qatar Airways has welcomed 48 new nationals to its Al Jossor programme,supporting the wider Qatar Airways Group onboarding programme to enablenew employees and developees to navigate their way easily andefficiently through the organisation. Al Jossor is part of the Al Darb Qatarisation Programme, an initiativeby the airline that introduces fresh graduates to the world of aviationand enables them to develop skills to become the future leaders at thenational carrier. Core modules in the Al Jossor Programme include providing informationabout the aviation industry, understanding key human resources policiesand exploring Qatar Airways’ operations via site tours, according to astatement. At the induction that took place last week at Oryx Rotana Hotel,graduates were given an introduction to the programme as well as a briefabout Qatar Airways and all its departments and subsidiaries. Thegraduates met with their coaches and line managers to discuss theGraduate Developee Programme and understand their roles within thisprogramme. Also present were the heads of departments who were there toanswer any questions that the graduates had.As part of the induction, graduates were provided with transportationfrom the Oryx Rotana to the hangar and given the opportunity to attenddifferent workshops and meet the airline’s engineers. During their timeat the hangar, they had the opportunity to take a close look atdifferent components of an aircraft. Qatar Airways senior vice-president (human resources) Nabeela Fakhrisaid, “Al Darb is a Qatari word that means ‘The Pathway’. The programmehighlights the different paths that individuals can pursue at QatarAirways and how they can be achieved through initiatives such our summerinternship programme and Graduate Developee Programme. The Al DarbQatarisation Programme puts graduates through real-life projects to helpadd to their work experience and position them for a prosperous careerwith the airline.”Qatar Airways senior vice-president (marketing and corporatecommunications) Salam al-Shawa added, “We are extremely proud of ourGraduate Developee Programme and the talent that it has brought in tothe airline. This programme is a great example of the airline’scontinuous efforts to support the next generation of talent, offeringthem an opportunity to experience the many different facets of the QatarAirways business and the many exciting opportunities available tothem.”Since the inauguration of Al Darb Qatarisation Programme, it haspresented young nationals with career opportunities through eightdifferent programmes and 35 different majors across the nationalcarrier’s numerous departments. The tailor-made programme supports,develops and nurtures young talent and equips nationals with the skillsand knowledge they need to succeed in their field of choice in theairline.
